A Midwife in Pursuit of Beneficial Knowledge

I want to first begin by saying that all praise is for Allah عزوجل, Lord of all the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship besides Allah alone, without any partners. I testify that Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم is His servant and Messenger, may the peace and salutations of Allah be upon him, his Family, and all of his Companions.

I wanted to briefly explain the title name for this first blog entry, “A Midwife in Pursuit of Beneficial Knowledge”. Like many human beings, my profession and other worldly affairs occupy my time more often than not. However, these worldly matters are not the center of my life.

But Allah عزوجل says,

وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ

“And I did not create the Jinn and Mankind except to worship Me.”

[Surah Ad Dariyat ayah 56]

Knowing how to worship Allaah عزوجل following the way He has legislated is what I strive to occupy more of my time with. I thought the title, “A Midwife in Pursuit of Beneficial Knowledge”,  describes my constant state, struggling against my soul striving in attempts to pursue Ilm despite the worldly matters that I am entrenched in.

This blog page will serve as a  journal for Trusting Hands Midwifery’s practice, it will share information to help families become better acquainted with their choices surrounding pregnancy, labor, and birth. Will explore topics involving the postpartum period, and will have a sprinkle here and there of homeschooling adventures that I have with my family.  Beithnillah.
